I am originally from Mexico and have been residing in the United States for over 20 years. My experience as an immigrant in the U.S. has significantly influenced both my personal and professional perspectives, emphasizing the importance of authentic relationship-building for collaboration, social justice, and student success. My professional background includes ten years of diverse roles within higher education, such as career and academic advisor, financial aid advisor, Assistant Director of Graduate Student Experience, and most recently, instructor of management at the University of Oregon. In addition to my work in higher education, I am passionate about culinary arts and food freelancing. I offer private authentic Mexican and Peruvian cooking lessons and provide catering services for special events.
