My name is Briselda and I was born in Acapulco, Guerrero Mexico. I came to the United States when I was fifteen years old. I consider Bend, Oregon my hometown because is where family resides. I'm a proud graduate of Mountain View High school. Go Cougars!

I have three young children with a Peruvian man which allowed me to master the art of both Peruvian and Mexican authentic cuisine

I'm a first generation college student. I attended Central Oregon Community College and the University of Oregon for my undergraduate education and Oregon State University for graduate school. My educational journey as an undocumented and DACAmented student brought much learning, personal growth, and resilience. Most important, it allowed me to understand that higher education is key to create change in our lives and in the world. I'm a firm believer that when there is a will, there is a way - no matter the challenge!

I'm a high energy, positive and passionate speaker about social justice, higher education employee systems that perpetual burnout, and food for connection.
