My name is Briselda and I was born in Acapulco, Guerrero Mexico. I came to the United States when I was fifteen years old. I consider Bend, Oregon my hometown because is where family resides. I'm a proud graduate of Mountain View High school. Go Cougars!

I'm married and have three young children with a Peruvian man. Meals at my house are always an adventure and include Mexican or Peruvian cuisine.

I'm a first generation college student. I attended Central Oregon Community College and the University of Oregon for my undergraduate education and Oregon State University for graduate school. My educational journey as a undocumented and DACAmented student has brought much learning, personal growth, and resilience. Most important, it allowed me to understand that higher education is key to create change in our lives and in the world. I'm a firm believer that when there is a will, there is a way - no matter the challenge!

I'm a high energy, positive and passionate speaker about DEI work and higher education. My approach to student success starts with a faculty & staff first approach because I strongly believe that when people feel taken cared of and supported in reaching their full potential as professionals, this ripples into positive change that leads to student success.

I'm a people-person by nature. I enjoy working in teams and leading projects. My professional portfolio includes presenter, DEI workshop facilitator, and an area of specialization with helping DACA/undocumented students. I enjoy training faculty and staff in understanding the challenges that Dreamer students face in higher education and afterwards as professionals.  Learn more about my skills in my resume here
